This story at couriermail.com.au, where O'Keefe has a blog, quotes Nova boss Sean Ryan as saying she was axed "to allow O'Keefe more time to work on her burgeoning television career". At least he didn't say it would let her spend more time with her family, which is what is usually the reason given in these circumstances. |  |

Brett, then again there are those who went from TV to radio. Ian Skippen and Tony Johnston are two notable Brisbane personalities who were TV stars before they went into radio.

I actually listened to her
I actually listened to her show a few weeks ago for about 30 minutes...What with the records,ads,traffic reports and plugs for the other programs I think I heard her say about 7 words...I think Nova realised that once you take away the hype,there wasn't actually much radio talent there.
ps You were right about changes at 4BC...Alex Bernard has already been punted...More changes are sure to follow...I'm sure it has nothing to do with blogs like this one !

She doesn't do traffic reports-so you must have been listening to the wrong show? As for talent-shes just been nominated for best music personality at the acras and rated no 1. Sorry but shes been getting a bashing and I'm a fan.
She rated higher than any
She rated higher than any other announcer in Brisbane by far-so people may knock her and say stupid shit about her face or talent-but you can't argue with ratings. As for getting rid of her-I have never heard of any station, tv or radio getting rid of someone who rates well. I reckon she has something bigger on the boil and Nova didn't like sharing.

I think the nova bosses were being diplomatic. I think they let her go because they know that they would rate well in that timeslot with or without her. Do you know who she will be replaced with? I think Emily is overexposed, & take away the hype and there isn't really any talent there.

Hi Brett I don't know weather you have listened to Breeze FM. 92.1 from Beaudesert but I think it is the best FM station in S.E.Qld. It has a Classic Hits format and is being heard well into the northern suburbs of Brisbane.How many FM.commercial stations in Brisbane play Elvis Presley? none (Breeze does).I don't listen to any Brisbane FM stations because they all sound the same At least the Breeze is different and the play songs out the 60s which other commercial FM stations seem scared to play.
