End of the end-credits

I saw a Russian-dubbed version of the Hugh Jackman-starring Van Helsing on Belarusian TV last night. I didn't understand aword of the dialogue, but - as anyone who has seen the film will know - that didn't make it especially difficult to follow what was going on. What struck me most was the extraordinary length of the credits and the number of people involved in making the movie. I know these FX-heavy films are labor intensive, but I must say I really feel for the person way, way down the list, far past the accountants, who was credited as the "2nd 2nd assitant director". Don't worry, champ, you'll get there one day.
PS: The ending of the film really sucks.

I was thinking about Hugh Jackman the other day ( It was a slow day at work!) A couple of years ago he really did look like he was going to take over the world.I just wonder if he tries to do too much. He's had movies, stage shows, musicals,TV pilots all come out, seemingly at once.Sometimes a man can have too many talents and ends up never fully developing one.
It's a shame as he seems like a really decent man...or perhaps I'm talking rubbish and he'll win an oscar,a grammy,a tony and if he's really lucky,he'll get nominated for a Gold Logie, all in 2009.

Maybe it hinges on the success of Baz Luhrmann's Australia - but, as I've said before, I'm not optomistic about the success of this film. Firstly, I think Nicole Kidman is overrated and, secondly, I don't think the rest of the world will be that interested in an epic set in the land Down Under.

It does not auger well for "Australia" ! I have read that the cast has been called to Sydney to do a spot of re-shooting, thus delaying the big "Grand Opening". That to me suggests that those in the know have worked out that they are sitting on a piece of cinematographic poo-poo !
I agree with you, Brett. The rest of the world really doesn't give a toss about Australia....the country and the film ! The Americans in general only give a darn about America. So, I too cannot see American's hysterically running to the cinema to see a film about a country that most of them have never heard about !
