Diagnosis: Is Kyle terminal?

Is this the end of Kyle Sandilands? Ten Network bosses are insisting he will return to host Big Brother after he recovers from a chest infection. In TV land, such strong statements of management support are often a cause for concern, and sometimes followed by a "negotiated exit" of the talent in question. I guess if Sandilands does come back, the ratings will decide his fate. Whatever the outcome, it's all good for Brisbane's Mike Goldman, who has been keeping the seat warm on the eviction shows, attracting strong ratings and a lot of online support. I suspect he'll be in very strong position when it comes to renegotiating his contract - and that other stations will be knocking on his door.

I hope that someone corners

I hope that someone corners the market on throat lozenges so that Kyle can't get hold of a packet of Butter Menthols in a big hurry ! Viva the chest infection !

Brett, Mike Goldman is a

Brett, Mike Goldman is a experienced second generation V/O artist, just like his dad Grant (who still does the V/O for CityRail in Sydney). Any deal could propel Goldman into a position where he would never need his family trade ever again.
If it is the sort of deal that would allow him to still do V/O work for his employer while presenting programs, he would have a ball doing it just like he does on FNL Brett.

I think Mike will have to

I think Mike will have to tread carefully. He wouldn't want to make an enemy of Kyle or seem too cocky. I hope he gets good advice.

Brett, no person should not

Brett, no person should not get up Kyle so bad that he thinks they are "private enemy #1" or even worse, a frienemy [thank the Fuglies for that term entering my vocabulary] (like how Kyle is with Rove McManus, good friends, better enemies).

Mike should consult a good lawyer when his contract is up for BB and treat each network's offer with the same attitude that he does when he is given a ad campaign to v/o for.

Brett, a month ago, I actually met Mike in person (at the Myer opening at North Lakes) and he is that same person in real life, as what he is on BB. Just before I left, I noticed Mike walking down the mall, with no security whatsoever, I said "Hi Mike!" and he said "Hi" back and it was then I realised why Mike was walking on his own, people know Mike for his voice, rather than his face (which has been shown to the world thanks to Big Brother and to lesser extent,) therefore he would not be mobbed.

If anyone picks him up post-BB, they should let Mike be himself, and transition him into a on-air personality/off-air announcer (kind of like what John Schluter was doing at Nine in Brisbane when he started doing weather on National Nine News, while still doing the station's program announcing as well) and wait for the ratings to flow in Brett.

I was mingling with Mike the other day at the Stradbroke Handicap - we backed the winning horse!!!!!!!
