Logies update

If you're not that interested in the full list, the Gold Logie went to Kate Ritchie (which means I was wrong about Chris Lilley). I wonder if that will translate into more listeners for her radio show.
It seems that I am not alone
It seems that I am not alone in panning the ceremony. On a webforum's (I am not naming where) Logies thread, people are saying that the 50th ceremony was the worst in a long time (especially the "memory lane" clips).
My specific vision for 2009 is to move The Logies out of Crown (even if PBL wants them to stay), to a new venue (The Gold Coast Convention Centre, The BCEC, Brisbane's Lyric Theatre and Her Majesty's in Melbourne would be the frontrunners for the venue) but if it were held in Brisbane it would be produced by all three Brisbane commercial stations (eg QTQ with venue, BTQ with catering and red carpet arrivals area design and TVQ with set design and entertainment as it would be themed "TV's Biggest Party") and in return all three stations would broadcast the event in Queensland as part of Q150 and Brisbane TV's 50th, while the broadcast rights would be onsold on a state by state basis.
As for if it were to be done down south in a different venue than Crown, Network Ten would be given the complete job for the broadcasting and organization of the ceremony (as they have done wonderful work with the ARIAs.)

It seems weird to reply to my own comment but hey! Wally would be proud of Lincoln (thanks for the "Queenslander" shout out, I wonder who taught him that?) But Bindi "Miley" Irwin was a different story. Jokes died all night on a ceremony which sold it's soul to suburbia. Even the mere mention of Sam Newman (in Melbourne, his hometown none the less) got heavily booed. The only highlight for me was Mr G's performance. But I would have loved to seen a fight between Rove and Kyle, but Kyle was busy telling BB fans to "shut up" when they booed Corey Worthington. Logies Ceremony rating- 2 & 1/3 stars (and that was without the "compulsory" American guest, Brett)
